In short
Children can use Storyloka without anyone collecting anything about them. There's no account, no chat, no ads, no tracking and no way to contact strangers.
Made for reading together
Storyloka is designed for children aged 5–10 reading with a parent, carer or teacher. The family lessons are written for that age; the full historical source texts are meant for grown-ups.
What we collect from children
Nothing. The app never asks a child for a name, birthday, email, photo, voice recording or location. There is no sign-up, so there is no profile to build.
Progress, favourites and notes are stored only on the family's device and never leave it.
What the app does not have
- No advertising and no in-app purchases aimed at children
- No analytics or tracking software
- No chat, comments or messaging
- No links that take a child out to social media
- No autoplay chains, streak pressure or reward loops
The grown-up check
The full source texts keep their historical language and some mature themes. Before opening them, the app shows a simple grown-up check (a quick sum). This helps keep young children in the family lessons, but it is a reading aid, not a secure parental lock. Grown-ups can also turn off source access in Family settings.
The website and children
Children are welcome to play the picture hunt on this website. It stores their streak and found lights only in the browser. The waitlist form is for grown-ups; we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their email, contact our contact page (an email address will be added before launch) and we will delete it.
Questions from parents
We're happy to explain anything about how Storyloka works. Reach us at our contact page (an email address will be added before launch).
