In short
We want every family to be able to use Storyloka. The site respects reduced-motion settings, works with a keyboard and screen readers, and the app reads aloud with adjustable text size.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to fix.
On this website
- Reduced motion: if your device asks for less motion, we skip the opening animation, scroll effects and particles, and show calm still pictures instead.
- Keyboard: every link, button and game can be reached with the keyboard, with a visible focus ring. A "Skip to content" link comes first.
- Screen readers: paintings have written descriptions, and decorative effects are hidden from assistive technology.
- Sound is off by default, and one switch controls it.
- Picture hunt: after a few tries you get a hint and a "Show me" button, so nobody gets stuck.
In the app
- Read-aloud using your device's own voice
- Adjustable text size and a dark theme
- Large touch targets designed for small hands
- Pinch-to-zoom on every painting
Known limits
- Some scroll scenes on the homepage are visual by nature; their key messages are always repeated in text.
- Read-aloud quality depends on the voices installed on your device.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on Storyloka is hard to use, please tell us at our contact page (an email address will be added before launch), and say which page and device you were using. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
